Employment Support

Supporting Your Work and Wellbeing
Your work life and mental health are closely connected. Challenges like job stress, job loss, or returning to work after time away can significantly affect your wellbeing. That’s why we offer dedicated employment support alongside your therapy.
If you’re receiving help through our NHS Talking Therapies service, you may be eligible to work with one of our Employment Advisors. They offer personalised, one-to-one support to help you overcome work-related challenges—whether you’re currently in work, off sick, or looking for a new role.
What can employment support help with?
Our support is tailored to your goals and may include:
- Help writing CVs and job applications
- Interview practice and preparation
- Exploring new career or training options
- Advice for managing issues at work
- Guidance on reasonable adjustments with your employer
- Support preparing for a return-to-work discussion
Your Employment Advisor will assess your needs and work closely with your therapist to provide joined-up, practical support. If additional help is needed, they can also connect you with other local services or community organisations.
How does employment support work?
Employment support is delivered alongside your therapy. You’ll continue to receive mental health support from your therapist or counsellor while also working with an Employment Advisor to address the practical aspects of your work situation.
Whether your employment issues are contributing to low mood or anxiety, or you’re unsure how to manage a return to work, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Important Note
You cannot self-refer directly to employment support. Access is available only through your therapist as part of your treatment with Derby and Derbyshire Talking Therapies.
